Why is some much retail business leaving the North Mesquite area?

Over the past two years, North Mesquite has lost prime businesses such as Albertsons, Mervyns, CompUSA, Gabberts, Sack & Save and many more! This trend is not healthy for North Mesquite and eventually will hurt residential property values and the overall look of our city. The tax lose must be devastating to the City and all residents will end up paying the difference in taxes or services! Just what does the North Mesquite residents, Mesquite Chamber and the City of Mesquite need to do to turn this trend around?
