The Mesquite Arts Council presents the annual John and Alta Nichols Art Camp the camp runs Monday June 9th through Friday June 13th each day from 1:30-4:30p. The annual summer art camp offers a week of art experience taught by an experienced artist and teacher. The activities are structured for children ages 7-10 to test their skills with drawing, painting, sculptural forms as well as mixed media. Campers use a variety of approaches, materials and art techniques to make their discoveries and express their ideas. Call 972/216-6444 for more information.

This years SUMMER READING CLUB kicks off with "TEXAS READING CLUB JUBILEE: 1958 - 2008! Celebrating 50 years of summer reading." Beginning on Monday, June 9th and continues through Saturday, August 2nd at both Mesquite Public Library locations. Children are welcome to come in and have fun with games, prizes, special guests and activities. There will be worlds of books to read and certificates to earn.
