Save our Community is right...
8/17/07 - Save our Community is right. There are folks that want you to believe that this junk about how alcohol sales are going to save our stores is a bunch of bunk. Stores flourished in Mesquite for decades without alcohol sales until Wal-Mart increased its presence. WM, currently the #1 grocery store chain in DFW, has more to do with stores closing then alcohol sales. WM is one of the contributors to the success of this petition. They don’t care about our tax revenue. Will it raise revenue, yes, but is it worth it in the long run… NOT ON YOU LIFE! 4-B’s was the voice of the people. Please don't fool yourself thinking that nothing negative is coming when you let beer flow through the check out lines with little Ricky watching. Mesquite is our home and it will be tomorrow unless we continue to bow to corporate greed and “progress”. Country isn’t country any more when we all stop caring.
